Sex with deities is just one of the themes of the new Starz show American Gods, based on the book by Neil Gaiman, but that has serious implications for us here at Mr. Man. Do you know why that is?
Digital. Boners. That's right - according to showrunner Bryan Fuller, the series will feature many digital erections, because technology is amazing. The book itself isn't shy about sexuality, and it was important to show creators to keep that element in the TV show, which debuts in 2017.
The premise of the show is complex, but goes a little something like this: Shadow Moon (played by Ricky Whittle)has just been released from prison, and he meets a real-life manifestation of the Norse god Odin on an airplane. As it turns out, all the gods we've read about through the ages are real and convening with the new gods - which, of course, are big-time money and tech tycoons.
It sounds hella good, and sort of like it will quench my Game of Thrones thirst when the series isn't on, but I guess we'll see.
