Godfrey Cambridge was a comedy legend. This New York native was originally going to become a doctor, but he decided to leave college to take up acting in off-Broadway productions that earned him a lot of praise. He dabbled in standup comedy and made an appearance on The Jack Paar Tonight Show where he was launched into fame. He's starred in Cotton Comes to Harlem (1970), Bye Bye Braverman (1968), The Busy Body, and more. He was best remembered for his leading role in Watermelon Man (1970). He exercises nude in one scene when his skin is painted white, but later he goes back to his natural skin tone when he pulls down his pants and shows the camera his big black ass. Now that seat is sweeter than a watermelon! Sadly, he died of a heart attack while on set for a TV film, but we're glad he left us with his hiney.
