Due to its popularity, the streamer has renewed the German romance series The Empress for Season Two, addressing fan frustration that the period drama was only a scant six episodes. The series about Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I and his wife Elisabeth Wittlebach amassed millions of viewers and jumped to the number 2 spot of the Netflix UK Top Ten right after it premiered in September, due largely in part to the central couple’s steamy sexy scenes!

Ever since the show debuted on Netflix, the internet has been buzzing about Philip Froissant, who plays Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria. The 28 year old German actor is causing a stir in the pants of fans with he and costar Devrim Lingnau’s passionate love scenes. Most specifically, the one that starts out with him posing nude by a lake so she can sketch him and ends with the two rolling around in the dirt!
