HBO's hit show - hit with gays and gals anyway - is coming to an abrupt end. It was announced yesterday that The Other Two is coming to a swift and final end amidst allegations that the showrunners created a toxic work environment. No, not my favorite show on TV at the moment! I hate hearing this news and I especially hate hearing that considering the show was hitting its stride and making me LOL. It was also making me horny with its bevy of hot babes. Let's formally say goodbye to all the hot gays in The Other Two.
The series starred cutie comedian Drew Tarver as Cary Dubek, a self-obsessed struggling actor who tries to ride his famous little brother's coattails (think Justin Beiber) to success. In an early episode, he tried to get famous by hanging around some influencers aka InstaGays who posed half-naked while going on fun outings together.
Nick Adams and Andrew Slaine played two of the InstaGays who took off their tight red manties in order to pose with their coy cans out for a sexy little pic with their friends. Oh, to be invited to this pool party!
The most recent season gave us the most opportunities to check out Tarver's tush. He got a boyfriend who was a method actor going out for Hollywood's hilariously backward gay roles. The satire here is that his method-acting boyfriend keeps playing roles that basically never have sex which means that Cary can't have sex with his hot new boyfriend. Pretty much ever - no matter how much hole Drew Tarver presents him.
Last week's episode expanded on that theme with his boyfriend playing a tortured gay cowboy. That was the first time the pair were allowed to have sex, but it was rough and lubeless. Drew's boyf only used spit as Drew compared the moment to movies like God's Own Country and Brokeback Mountain. Again, hilarious commentary with hot scenes!
Steffan Argus plays his boyfriend who, in accordance with his character, doesn't show us much at all. It's okay because his character is hilarious and provides some pointed commentary on the way Hollywood treats gay characters in movies.
Not many men go nude in the show besides Drew Tarver. Frank de Julio played an earlier lover of Drew's who really only showed his bulge in bed beside Drew.
Drew had other love interests throughout the show from the "straight" roommate whom he sometimes hooked up with to Gideon Glick who played his very normal (and sometimes boring) committed relationship. The two moved very fast...so fast that they moved into barely having sex. We didn't get to see much sex from them either, but this tub scene was cute.
All in all, Drew's character barely got laid - not in ways we got to see much of. Poor guy. I imagine that if the show had continued that he would have the opportunity for more sex. Alas, we wont' get to see that. Let's just hope other amazing gay comedies come in the future!
