The theme of the 2021 Met Gala - which went down yesterday, September 13th - is "American Independence". And our favorite red carpet attendee - Shawn Mendes - stuck to the theme by maintaining independence from his shirt! Fashion's biggest night was pared down due to the pandemic. Only about a third of the usual number of celebs were invited, and this year the guest list focused on younger, up-and-coming stars. There will be a second Met Gala in May, which will have a more traditional invite list. But all we care about for the sake of this post is that Shawn Mendes made the cut for Met Gala 2021, and that he looked damn fine on that red carpet.

Shawn Mendes shocked attendees when he arrived at the Gala wearing extremely low-rise pants paired with an unbuttoned leather jacket... sans shirt. Both Shawn Mendes and his girlfriend Camila Cabello worked with iconic American designer Michael Kors for their Met looks.

In addition to his pants and jacket, Mendes' nails are painted black, he sports a number of chunky jewelry pieces, and not one, but two different belts. It takes a lot to keep that big dick from popping out! Lol IDK.
