The early 2000s were a weird time for homosexuality in pop culture. Queeras Folk was on television, metrosexual was a word straight people used (remember that? Whatfresh hell was that?), chat rooms were the original hookup apps and slowly but surely the rest of the culture learned how cool and hot gay men were. In the middle of the aughts, a rare romantic comedy starring and about gay men came out. For today's Throwback Thursday, let's take a look at the 2005rom-com Adam& Steve.
Adam Steve stood out at that time period because it starred two actually gay actors Craig Chester and Malcolm Gets as two men who are falling in love.Both of their straight friends,Chris Kattan and Parker Posey, also met and started falling for each other much to the chagrin of Adam Steve who wanted this to be their love story. Um, so did we! Get that "straight" couple out of here. We're here for Craig and Malcolm in the shower.
Since it was a film in 2005, there are certainly some stereotypes and off-color jokes, but as a whole, the movie holds up. There wasn't much explicit nudity, both Malcolm and Chester have tight tushes that make the movie a joy to watch.
Malcolm Gets can certainly get it after we see his back sack and tip from behind in one scene. If only he had shown us his front!
