The amazing Showtime series Queer as Folk follows the ups and downs of five gay men living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That might not sound like the most innovative show in the world these days, but considering it kicked off in the year 2000 and lasted until 2005, while gay marriage wouldn't end up legalized in the USA until 2015, it's truly one of the most progressive and daring shows in TV history. We dare you to try and watch it with your pants on! Based on the British show of the same name that came out just a year earlier, the show introduced us to Brian Kinney (Gale Harold), a sex-crazed ad-executive just shy of thirty who is madly in love with Justin (Randy Harrison), a happy-go-lucky artist who was kicked out of his house as a teen for being gay, and constantly struggles with the idea of leaving Pittsburgh for NYC to make it in the art world. Those are the primary pair, but there's also Michael Novotny (Hal Sparks), a comic book obsessed dude that's buds with Brian, though Brian would like to be more, Emmett Honeycutt (Peter Paige) is a flamboyant job hopper who has dabbled in porn and Ted Schmidt (Scott Lowell), a drug addled accountant with self-esteem issues. Throw in lesbian couple, Lindsay (Thea Gill) and Melanie (Michelle Clunie), along with Michael’s mother (Sharon Gless) and his uncle (Jack Wetherall), and Showtime gave us an unapologetic and humorous show that was as full of compelling action as captivating characters. More importantly, it was stuffed full of sex-filled scenes of buff dude nudity, including ass and peen shots from Gale Harold and Peter Paige. Sparks will fly watching Hal and Chris Potter do the deed in his Superman poster covered bedroom. Faster! Faster! Faster than a speeding bullet! Scott Lowell gets a facefull of dong from Dean Armstrong when he demands the square screws him, while Derwin Jordan brings a bit of color to the show thanks to his bare black ass. Randy Harrison had us randy thanks to his constant bareback action with Gale Harold, while Aaron Bell is hot as Hell going cock out as a nude model. Great ding-dong Mr. Bell! The hair might be outdated, but those scenes still hold up when it comes to getting it up! We could go on and on about all the naked men on this one, but it still wouldn't convey how pivotal the show was to us Gen X gays. For us old-ish queer folks, Queer as Folk was a groundbreaking and important piece of art, that just happened to be chock full of hot pieces of ass!
