Even Netflix is getting in on society's insatiable curiosity regarding cults and their twisting going-ons. The streamer's thrilling 2024 French-language series Anthracite is about the mass suicide of a cult in the frozen village of Levionna in the French Alps. The lone survivor of this mass suicide was the cult’s leader, Caleb Johansson (Stefano Cassetti). That was back in 1994, and now thirty years later a woman is found murdered in the same ritualistic way that the cult offed people. Jaro Gatsi (Hatik) becomes the main suspect, and he doesn't have many folks on his side as he's the new guy in town, fleeing to this remote area of the world to escape his past.
