Hotel Coppelia (2021)

WARNING: The content in the harrowing movie Hotel Coppelia is not for the faint of heart, but if you can forgo the movie magic, you might be able to appreciate the male nudity here. Hotel Coppelia is a Spanish-language drama that tells the forgotten struggles of a group of prostitutes living in the Dominican Republic in 1965. And let's just say this isn't the type of sex work you see Kim Kardashian doing. These women are stripped of their freedoms and made to engage with men in ways that they don't always consent to. However, a glimmer of hope comes along when a group of rebels stage a coup in the Dominican Republic. For a fleeting moment, the prostitutes are able to envision a better future for themselves. However, their dreams are dashed with the US comes in to suppress the uprising started by the freedom fighters. The soldiers deliver a new wave of pain and suffering, and the prostitutes are made to endure a number of lose-lose situations that test their will. But it's not all doom and gloom! Kidding, it honestly is. As you can imagine, Hotel Coppelia includes some hard-to-watch male nudity. Nick Searcy shows his butt while having his way with a woman on a desk. It's the kind of scene that you don't want to watch, so you don't. Ya know? As if that isn't enough, we also get to see cutie Jazz Vilá tucking his penis and balls into his tights. We salute Hotel Coppelia for telling an important story about women, but we wish it had just an iota more male hotness. As the ladies in Hotel Coppelia know all too well, you can't always get what you want!
