On February 3rd Netflix will get a little gayer with the new addition to its lineup,I Love You Phillip Morris(2010). In order to really feel the love between stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, let's take a look at the hunks' previous nude poles, we mean roles!
I Love You Philip Morris is about the real life conman and cock connoisseur Steven Jay Russell, played by Jim Carrey. While in jail Russell falls for Philip Morris (Ewan McGregor), and after escaping comes up with a number of ruses in order for the two of them to be together.
This bizarre story is told with unforgettabledelicacy, and though a comedy, the jokes are cut with touching, if not heartbreaking, momentssuch as Phillip running alongside the jail yard fence as Steven is taken away. A product of the late 2000's, the characters in Morris are able be decidedly gay and yet have a romance that feels entirely their own. With two famous leads, Morris, for me at least, marked a departure from previous rigid gay stereotypes (sorry, The Birdcage).The humor in this flick may be tongue in cheek, but the joy of watching love blossom between the characters is nothing to laugh about.
Speaking of tongues in cheeks, both Jim and Ewan have gone full frontal before, with Ewan winning the prestigious Mr. Man Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.
