Run with the Hunted (2019)

If you're looking for grizzled men looking their most disheveled, Run with the Hunted (2019) might be the movie for you! Silver foxes Ron Perlman, William Forsythe, Isaiah Whitlock, Jr. and Mark Boone Junior bring their grizzled best to this grimy underworld crime saga loosely based on Dickens' Oliver Twist. When he was a boy, Oscar (Michael Pitt) murdered the abusive father of his childhood crush Loux (Imagine if Forrest Gump had murdered Jenny's father in the first act of that movie). Oscar goes into hiding thanks to his recruitment into an underground network of child thieves who run petty street crimes for the benefit of Big Poppa Birdie (Ron Perlman). Oscar forms a bond with Peaches (Dree Hemingway), another cog in Birdie's wheel, but unbeknownst to him, a now grown Loux (Sam Quartin) has taken a job working for a private investigator and is looking for Oscar, who has gone from the Oliver of the group to more of the Artful Dodger as he's gotten older. As Loux makes her way closer to Oscar, the man who once saved her life, she might not like the man he's become. While absolutely none of your grizzled desires will be satisfied by this flick, we think you'll like the sight of Michael Pitt in his boxers being woken up by Dree Hemingway a little past the one hour mark! If you want to see Pitt's pistol, you should Run (with the Hunted) and not walk over to The Dreamers or one of the movies where he's nude. If you want to bask in the grizzled glow of these actors in a non-nude context, however, you could do a lot worse!
