The Best Man Holiday (2013)

A sequel to the hit romantic comedy The Best Man (1999), nearly fifteen years removed, the comedy The Best Man Holiday (2013) centers around a days-long Christmas get-together at the sprawling estate of New York Giants running back Lance (Morris Chestnut) and his wife Mia (Monica Calhoun). Among the guests are Harper (Taye Diggs), a best selling author; Jordan (Nia Long), a tough executive at MSNBC; Quentin (Terrence Howard), a musical talent; Julian and Candace (Harold Perrineau and Regina Hall), idealistic teachers; and Shelby (Melissa De Sousa), a newly-minted reality star. As we all know, when a large group of friends get together there is bound to be a wave of emotions that surface, good and bad. The gang’s holiday party soon begins to ignite old rivalries, rekindle old romances and bring about some good laughs. The Best Man Holiday gives a lot of laughs and a helping of beefcake from Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard and Morris Chestnut. Maybe the film should’ve been titled “Best Men”!
