The likability of the characters in The Fast and the Furious and the quality of storytelling by director Rob Cohen created a movie that spawned one of the most successful cinema franchises of all time. While films featuring superheroes, wizards, and transforming robots all have large built-in followings, Furious cultivated its fan base mostly from the ground up. Vin Deisel’s star was already hot at the time, but others such as Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster were just finding their following, and became instant household names after the movie’s release.

The world of underground racing has often fascinated people, but has never received the Hollywood treatment quite like in The Fast and the Furious. When bad boy Dominic (Vin Deisel) and his ragtag team of underground racers are accused of theft, undercover police officer Brian (Paul Walker) must infiltrate their circle to investigate. After falling for the intoxicating, thrilling world of underground racing, however, Brian must decide where his allegiance lies. The lightning-fast editing, pulsating music, and candy-like palette of colors in Furious heightens the intensity of racing, making the audience feel like they are along for the ride.

Speaking of going for a ride, The Fast and the Furious gives us a plethora of sweaty, shirtless men who are bound to start a fire under your hood. In fact, the film’s main men were so sexy that most movie theaters had to replace their seat cushions after the first showing. True story (not really). Paul Walker is a true Adonis, his curly blond hair, tan toned body, and gorgeous face coming together to create a work of art. Needless to say, Vin’s rock hard bod doesn’t disappoint and his baritone voice gives us good vibrations. After seeing this movie you will be furiously doing something fast, and if you do it while driving, please buckle up.
