The iconic Spaghetti western The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) is the final chapter of director Sergio Leone’s famous "Dollars Trilogy" of westerns. The shawl, the squint, the theme song and the Clint: the film is truly one of the most iconic movies ever, and created a ton of tropes that were forever associated with the genre. Set in the Southwest during the American Civil War, the mysterious and enigmatic stranger Blondie (Clint Eastwood), the good, is a bounty hunter who uses the ugly AKA Tuco (Eli Wallach) to scam people out of bounties by taking him in, taking the cash, and shooting down the rope right before they hang his partner. One day they come across a dying Confederate who tells Tuco the name of a cemetery where he's hidden all sorts of gold, and Blondie the name of the grave under which it's buried. Each possessing a pivotal piece of knowledge and being smart enough not to share that info, Blondie and Tuco unexpectedly join forces to locate the treasure. They'd better act fast, because Angel Eyes, the bad, (Lee Van Cleef) hears about the gold from a guy he's just about to kill. Now, he's on the hunt too. Where there’s a lot of money, there’s bound to be a lot of backstabbing and murder, so each character must watch their back as they head out on their high stakes hunt. Watch for the iconic three-man Mexican standoff in the cemetery at the end of this one. It's inspired a ton of movie scenes ever since the 60's. While there’s a bounty of buried gold, there’s also a bounty of beefcake in the form of Eli Wallach’s shirtless and suds-covered physique in a couple tense scenes. He might not be a pretty boy, but there's nothing ugly about his buns all covered in bubbles when he hops out of the bath! The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly has some badasses looking awfully good in it!
