It's awards season and with the Oscars airing on Sunday, I wanted to shed light on some of the lesser-remembered Oscar-winning movies that have great nude scenes. Here are some films that hardly get mentioned anymore when it comes to talking about Oscar greats that also have hot scenes that are worth checking out.
Wings(1927)
This film does get mentioned simply because it was the first Oscar-winning movie and it was an epic one. The first ever Oscar-winning movie also had a gay scene - or as much of a gay scene as a film from 1927 could have. Its stars shared a smooch in this silent film. Were they just besties sharing a parting kiss? Or were they lovers? Richard Arlen and Charles "Buddy" Rogers have us swooning nearly one hundred years later.
The Sting(1973)
The Sting is a fantastic film and undoubtedly one of Robert Redford's finest performances, but it hardly gets mentioned nowadays as much as it deserves to. Not only is it a thrilling film, but Robert Redford is fine as hell. He never goes nude, but his shirtless scenes stung me to my horny core.
Dances With Wolves (1990)
If you were alive in the early 90s, then you know how inescapable this film was. Kevin Costner's performance was beloved and award-winning in this massive box office success. The Best Picture winner is barely mentioned today and I doubt it is studied in film classes. That being said, Costner's can deserves to be studied.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Now Forrest Gump is not a forgotten film. It is very much alive and well! What is forgotten is Tom Hanks' nudity in the movie and how shockingly decent it is. We see his butt cheek in one scene and his pubic hair in another!
Crash (2004)
Here is a film whose reputation has soured over time - so much so that uttering its title feels like saying Voldemort's name. The fact that it won over critical favorite Brokeback Mountain continues to upset people as time goes on. At the time, the movie that seeks to explore racial injustice was a huge hit at the box office and that could have been due in part to Don Cheadle's ass.
Green Book (2018)
The most recent film on this list is Green Book. Its win in 2018 was very controversial as that was a year with great contenders. The other nominees included Roma, The Favourite, A Star is Born, and the wildly popular Black Panther. Those are all wonderful films with hot scenes - some of which even have full-frontal nudity. So how did Green Book win? That remains a mystery!
Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Moonlight prior to this, so perhaps it was a love for the actor that helped this film win its Best Picture Oscar. He won the award again and the film took top prize...again. Maybe Mahershala in your movie is the way to nab the coveted Academy Award for Best Picture.
