The Light in the Hall (2022)

A dramatic thriller filmed in both English and Welsh, this UK series (known as Y Golau in Wales) follows journalist Cat Donato (Alexandra Roach) as she tries to uncover the mystery of what happened to her high school best friend Ela, who was murdered 18 years ago. The man found guilty at the time, Joe Pritchard (Game of Throne's baddie Iwan Rheon), is about to be released from prison and while he and the rest of the town want to move on, Cat and Ela’s mother Sharon (Joanne Scanlon) are desperate to locate Ela’s body and finally gain closure. During this tense quest for the truth about Ela’s last days, we do at least get a nice look at a shirtless (albeit beaten up) Iwan. For us, getting a peek at Iwan’s pecs is the one light within this dark, psychological series.
