The Run of the Country (1995)

Set near the border of Northern Ireland, the 1995 drama The Run of the Country stars Matt Keeslar as 18 year-old Danny, who leaves home and moves in with his free-spirited friend, Cocoa (Anthony Brophy), after the death of his mother because he doesn’t get along with his bitter cop of a father (Albert Finney). Along the way, Danny gets stripped, tarred, and feathered, but the good parts mostly stay covered. Tarnation!
