Everyone's favorite southern vampire series is being made into a musical. True Blood the musical is currently being workshopped with composer Nathan Barr! The musical is slightly different as it focuses on vampires trying to reveal who they are to humans which is a close allegory for coming out of the closet.

Series creator Alan Ball commented on the musical and talked briefly about it at Vulture Festival, but he didn't make it clear whether he was involved. He did talk about the coming out allegory and the LGBTQ themes that came from True Blood and its source material, Charlaine HarrisThe Southern Vampire Mysteries. We gotta read those books!

We can't wait to see the musical and see live adaptations of beloved characters like Lafayette Reynolds who was played in the show by Nelson Ellis and bisexual vamp Eric Northman played by Alexander Skarsgård, just to name a few.

Now would be a good time to revisit True Blood and enjoy the asses on Joe Manganiello andAlexander Skarsgård. We'd love to sink our fangs into these beefy buns and we can't wait to hear songs sung about them. At least, we assume that's what the musical is about. What else would it be about besides sexy vampire asses?
