It seems odd that Ben Mendelsohn entered the world of acting especially considering that his father is a prominent medical researcher and his mother was a registered nurse. One would figure that ol’ Ben would be a regular in the biology department at a top tier university, not a drama geek. Nevertheless, Ben’s choice of professions has paid off well and he’s certainly made a name for himself in both his home country of Australia and the United States. The Aussie hottie quickly established himself on the Down Under boob tube, earning recurring roles on the shows The Henderson Kids and Neighbours, before moving on to score silver screen success in the films The Still Point (1986), Return Home (1990), Idiot Box (1996), and Sample People (2000). We received a sampling of full frontal from Ben with his guest appearance on the medical drama series Halifax f.p: My Lovely Girl. Maybe the title stands for “fine penis”? Sixteen years after appearing in his first film, Ben was named “Actor of the Year for 2010” by GQ Australia, a lofty title not to be scoffed at. Determined to live up to his much-deserved praise from the men’s magazine, the handsome fellow kicked his acting abilities into second gear by his awesome performances on the TV shows Love My Way, Tangle, and Bloodline.
