If loving Benedict Wong is wrong, we don’t want to be right. Mr. Wong is actually known as Wong in Marvel’s Doctor Strange (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Of course, there’s nothing strange about Benedict’s success. Raised by his Chinese immigrant parents in England, the brainy babe attended Salford City College before reading a play on BBC Radio. But the black-haired lad landed his big break when he was cast in the Stephen Frears drama Dirty Pretty Things (2002) which nabbed him a British Independent Film Award nomination. Through the years, Benedict appeared on stage (The Arrest of Ai Weiwei, Chimerica); on film (A Cock and Bull Story, Grow Your Own, Kick-Ass 2); and on TV (15 Storeys High, State of Play, Spirit Warriors, Top Boy). If that’s not entertaining enough, he popped up in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi flicks Prometheus (2012) with Michael Fassbender and The Martian (2015) with Matt Damon, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Sean Bean. Who knew space was so sexy?! The typically thin thespian proved his acting dedication by packing on thirty pounds to portray Kublai Khan in the Netflix series Marco Polo (2014-2016). Benedict bares his Buddha belly during an orgy scene. No wonder Samuel Taylor Coleridge penned the poem “Kubla Khan: A Vision in a Dream” — or perhaps it should be called “Kubla Khan: A Vision in a Wet Dream” instead!
