Colton Haynes is one of the cutest openly gay celebrities in Hollywood, and this weekend he took to Instagram to share a bold pic from his teen modeling days. Colton was photographed for an infamous(ly sexy) spread in the gay adult XY Magazine in 2006. Colton's softcore shoot sees him sharing a graphic pool makeout with another gorgeous boy (model Jerreth Ludwig, who is now a daddy on Instagram). In the XY shoot we see lots and lots of tongue, and lots and lots of smooth toned muscles. I know art when I see it!

The shoot is such a legend in the gay community that it'll cost you $95 dollars to purchase Colton's issue of XY Magazine on Amazon. In case anyone needs any Christmas ideas for me!

However, Colton's teen hotness in XY isn't what people are buzzing about. Everyone's talking about the poignant Instagram caption Colton shared with the pic of his gay adult spread. Colton confesses that he tried to get these pics taken off the Internet back when his gayness was considered a liability. Colton also states that he's envious of his young and uninhibited self as seen in XY Magazine. Here's Haynes' full commentary on his evolving relationship with his own queerness:

I’ve never posted this picture before. In fact, I spent a big part of my career trying to erase it from the internet while I was still in the closet. Partly because so many ppl in Hollywood told me I would never work as an openly gay actor, but part of it was because I was incredibly ashamed. It made me sad to see these pictures I had taken as a teenage model…before I was placed with voice & movement coaches to straighten me up for the cameras…before I learned to see my queerness as a liability. I was jealous of him. The boy in these pictures was so open, so free. He had to be taught that it wasn’t ok to be who he was.

Being gay is worth celebrating. I wish I’d figured that out sooner, but I’m so glad I know it now. To everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community, I hope you celebrate yourselves this month & always, exactly as you are.

Haynes' sentiment is equal parts heartbreaking and hopeful, and we hope that his bravery helps inspire future generations of gays to embrace what makes them unique. Three queers for Colton Haynes!
