Born in Denmark to a Danish mother and Japanese father, David Sakurai took a little bit of an alternative route to success as an actor. Up until he graduated high school, David’s life was pretty normal. Among his hobbies were drama classes and martial arts among other things. His interest in both became so strong he moved to Japan after high school and immersed himself in Tokyo’s rising independent film scene. Speaking English, Japanese, and Danish, he supported himself as a bartender in Tokyo until his career started taking off. After some success in Japan he moved back to Denmark where he continues to live, however, he splits time between there, the United States, and Japan.
