French New Wave director and film visionary Jean-Luc Godard passed away yesterday. The director shaped French film and inspired moviemaking around the world for decades. He passed away at 91 and he has left us wondering about his mark left on the world... specifically with nudity.
In 2017, Michel Hazanavicius directed this film about the life and career of Jean-Luc Godard told from the point-of-view of his wife Anne Wiazemsky. Anne was a young actress and one of Godard's muses, so she had a front-row seat to his creative genius. She also had a front-row seat to his cock and balls! We see the strange dynamic between these two: their cultural differences, their age differences, and their attraction to one another. There was no male nudity in this movie, but a surprising remake remedied that.
Breathless was remade in 1983 and it starred then-heartthrob Richard Gere. Gere had already shown us his tool in American Gigolo, so going nude was no problem for the dreamboat. He upped the ante in Breathless with multiple nude scenes that showed off the amazing body on the one and only Mr. Gere.

It's clear to see that Godard inspired male nudity, even if he didn't really dip into it much himself. At least Godard inspired other men to pull out their dicks and explore some dudity on the camera. That can be a part of his legacy, too!
