The hardcore, graphic, and cum-soaked gay scene from the latest Marvel movie Eternals is raising some eyebrows. Kidding! The gay scene everyone's talking about right now (which has yet to actually be seen by audiences because Eternals doesn't come out tomorrow, Nov. 5th) is a meer smooch between two husbands. I'm calling the police! The scene in queer-stion is sure to be more akin to Josh Gad's much-hyped gay scene in Beauty in the Beast than say, um, something actually... worth talking about? Nonetheless, gay representation in mainstream movies is a still work in progress, and I'm not going to undervalue the importance of a gay kiss (however neutered it may be) in a Marvel movie. Gay superhero representation matters!

More notably, Marvel's parent company Disney has decided not to cater to anti-gay counties by not cutting the gay scene from Eternals. That means that Eternals will not be screen in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. This may sound like common sense for a company with a religious gay following, but in 2019 Disney cut a gay scene from Star Wars so that it would receive a PG-13 rating in Singapore. (Eternals will receive an M18 rating in Singapore.)

According to the Hollywood Reporter the scene in question is "a kiss between Brian Tyree Henry’s character and his on-screen husband, played by Haaz Sleiman." And unbelievably "...it marks the first gay kiss in the Marvel Cinematic Universe." Two husbands showing affection for each other. Well now I'm offended.

Haaz Sleiman is gay IRL and already has some gay scenes (and nudity!) here at Mr. Man. In the movie Breaking Fast Haaz drops his towel while going in for a hug, and shares a pretty damn passionate gay kiss with Michael Cassidy. If the Eternals kiss is anything like this, then maybe I'll see the damn movie!

Plus if you go back to 2015 you can catch Haaz Sleiman in a very hot gay sex scene with Jonathan Gordon in Those People.

Haaz's on-screen hubby in Eternals Brian Tyree Henry doesn't have any nudity or gay content yet, but all of that's about to change baby. Hopefully in the future a gay kiss between two husbands isn't a headline-grabbing extravaganza, but for now, we will certainly count this as progress. Gay smooches are Eternally welcomed here!
