Sometimes the crazy hot ones end up going a little crazy. Consider the case of the man from Leeds with leading man good looks, James Howson. Plucked from obscurity, James beat out hundreds of actors for the coveted role as Heathcliff in the adaptation based on the classic novel Wuthering Heights (2011). But this adaptation wanted to be young and sex filled, so rather than cast a longtime leading man, James joined Hollywood heavyweights like Tom Hardy, Ralph Fiennes, Timothy Dalton and Laurence Olivier as the newest in an esteemed group of talented actors to have played the role. James made history by being the first black man to land the role, with the director citing a line about the character being dark skinned in the original novel. Howson went clothes off as the character, since we see every bit of James’ flesh as he paces a room in the nude. Talk about a room with a view! This Heathcliff was making us stiff! So far, that's the only movie James has been in due to his offscreen issues. James' girlfriend claimed he made a bunch of threats towards her when she wouldn't let him see his child in a hospital's maternity ward. James ended up being detained under the Mental Health Act for what was deemed racially aggravated harassment of his partner. In his defense, James' lawyers said his overnight success and sudden celebrity might have played a role in his actions and his mental state. After seeing all he has to offer with his one full frontal role, if he wants to keep acting, we'd love to see what he has to offer in terms of acting. Hopefully he gets his act together and returns to acting.
