Biography

First things first: the family connections. Quincy Brown, who is mostly known simply as Quincy, is the son of model Kim Porter and music industry veteran Al B. Sure. He was named after his godfather, Quincy Jones. When little Quincy was three, his mom started dating Sean “Diddy” Combs, who became a father to him and raised Quincy as one of his own kids. Diddy and Kim threw him a big birthday blow-out bash that was featured on MTV’s reality series, My Super Sweet 16 in 2008. Impressed yet? Quincy has dabbled in video directing, runway modeling, music, and was the first male celebrity spokesperson for Coach watches. He’s also got his own watch line, a jeans collection, a start-up tech company, and a production company, as well as a picture-editing app. And yes, he is also an actor. Other than that birthday bash and some other reality show appearances, his first acting gig was playing Reggie in the movie We the Party (2012), directed by and starring Mario Van Peebles. He was Jaleel in Dope, Chris Collins in Brotherly Love, and Dante in Street, all in 2015. He got himself a big break when he landed the part of Derek on the FOX series Star in 2016, and stayed there until 2019, occasionally revealing his sexy, shirtless self. When that ended, he moved into the role of Crown Camacho in the Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan from 2021-2022 (He’s shirtless in this, too. Thank you!). Oh, and that’s also Quincy in the music video for Maluma’s “Sobrio,” which has over 277 million views. And is quite catchy.
