You have to be pretty confident to go by just one name. Historically speaking, there’s Confucius, Nostradamus, Plato, and Socrates. Fast forward to today’s art world and you’ve got Banksy, while the music industry boasts a host of famous fellows including Beck, Bono, Drake, Eminem, Moby, Morrissey, and Sting. When it comes to acting, there’s Fabio, Sinbad, and Taimak. The latter was born Taimak Guarriello in Los Angeles, where he spent much of his life training in the martial arts. In addition to earning black belts in Goju Ryu Karate, Hapkido, Jeet Kune Do, Jujutsu, Taekwondo, and Wing Chun, the ebony athlete worked under famed instructor and fight choreographer Ron Van Clief. No wonder, Taimak has kicked ass in the flicks Book of Swords (2005), The System Within (2006), They’re Just My Friends (2006), and Fury of the Fist and the Golden Fleece (2018). The hardworking hottie also sizzled on the small screen with guest spots on several series (A Different World, Red Shoe Diaries, Third Watch, and Beverly Hills, 90210). When Taimak isn’t performing amazing stunts, he teaches celebs such as Madonna, for whom he served as martial arts coordinator during her Drowned World Tour. Of course, we’d rather watch the built babe do his thing in The Last Dragon (1985). The marital arts comedy features Vanity, Julius Carry, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Taimak’s sweaty chest! It’s no surprise these perfect pecs brought the fit fox to skinternational prominence.
