The Righteous Gemstones is back with its second season on HBO and it feels gayer than ever. This season, surprisingly, gave us a lot of eye candy because one of the characters recruited a bunch of shirtless muscle men to hang around as his posse. How does that sound? Hot? It is! I'm starting to wonder: is The Righteous Gemstones the most homoerotic show on TV?
Kelvin is a character played by Adam Devine with a nebulously homoerotic relationship with his "friend" and follower Keefe played by Tony Cavalero. Tony's character was previously a Satanist whom Kelvin saved which explains why he follows him no matter what he says and does. Although Kelvin makes that easy when he forms an army of musclemen that Kelvin and Keefe rule over like it's their sexy kingdom.
Season two shows Kelvin's journey from a youth group leader to a leader of a group of muscular guys. Their whole premise is essentially working out, reading The Bible, and supporting each other. Supporting each other is really easy when they all look like this. So, yes, the two "friends" preside over a big group of the hottest guys on HBO (some of whom are also on Euphoria) and everyone lives together in a house. Um...is this a gay dream?!
Keefe and Kelvin lead the hot hunks into all kinds of shenanigans. The Men - that's what he calls the members of his God Squad - lift weights, do yard work and challenge one another to arduous physical tasks, all in the name of the lord. Sure, whatever it takes to show us these buff beefcake.
