Did you know that literally every teen movie you remember is from the same year - 1999? Well, not every teen movie, but way more than you would think is possible. This phenomenon is due to a variety of factors, such as the influence of 1995's Clueless. The script was actually based on the Jane Austin novel Emma, and proved that teens in the 90s craved modern-day adaptations of classic works. This ushered in the likes of 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, and Cruel Intentions. All 1999 movies.
