Harry Twatter aka Daniel Radcliffe is such a fascinating actor. He appears to be one of those rare child stars who made it out of childhood fame with a decent head on his shoulders. I think one of the ways that he maintains his down-to-Earth charm is by doing projects that he clearly wants to do. That's why so many of his recent roles are so damned weird.
He played with guns in Guns Akimbo. He was in that movie about the farting dead man, Swiss Army Man. He lip-syncs in chaps on Miracle Workers. I'm seeing a pattern here: Daniel Radcliffe is a delightfully weird dude and he does what he pleases. Since he is so apparently weird, it makes sense that he is going to take on the weirdest role of all: Weird Al.
Yes, literally. Daniel Radcliffe is about to be in a Weird Al Yankovich biopic that is set to debut on the Roku Channel (what is that? Just kidding!). This co-production with Funny or Die is bound to be hilarious, weird, and hopefully illuminating. I've watched Weird Al's Behind the Music, so I know that this man has a surprising amount of stories to tell.
Is Daniel Radcliffe the best choice for Weird Al? Sure, why not! He is certainly going to make the curly-haired accordion player a lot sexier and I think that's great. He's got me hoping that we will see Daniel Radcliffe's hole in the movie. Nothing weird about that possibility!
I'm excited for this really strange biopic. I'm happy for Al. I'm happy for Daniel. I'm happy for us that we all get to witness this weird match made in parody-song heaven - wait, does that mean Daniel Radcliffe is going to sing?! I have so many questions and I'm excited to see all of the answers.
