Review

The campy comedy First Period (2013) follows the bubbly Cassie (Brandon Alexander) as she tries to acclimate herself to her new school. She soon befriends the school’s outcast Maggie (Dudley Beene) and together the two girls attempt to earn the hearts and approval of the cute boys and the popular girls on campus by winning the annual talent show. Their path to popularity gets blocked by their rivals Heather (Lauren Rose Lewis), Other Heather (Karli Kaiser), and their hunky boyfriends Dirk (Michael Turchin) and Brett (Leigh Wakeford) as they go to no ends to make life miserable for the girls. They’re going to have to put on one helluva talent show to earn the respect of their fellow classmates, which they manage to do. Kyle Blitch flaunts his talent (and banging body) by dancing on stage in his undies, a sexy scene that is topped off by Blitch sharing a passionate smooch with Michael Turchin.
