Girl, Interrupted (1999)

Over the years since its release in 1999, Girl, Interrupted has become an unsung gay classic. Brittany Murphy's character Daisy hoarding rotisserie chicken carcasses under her bed? Angelina Jolie's wig? Whoopi Goldberg in general? Girl, Interrupted is Drag Race and I won't hear otherwise. Anyway, girl, Interrupted is about a troubled youth named Susanna Kaysen, played by the legendary Winona Ryder. Life becomes overwhelming for her so she heads to a mental institution where she's met by a motley crew of troubled women. Chief among them is Lisa, played by the one and only Angelina Jolie. This bad girl loves to rile up the authorities and has little regard for the wellbeing of her fellow patients. Of course we also meet Daisy. This is Brittany Murphy in her prime, and again, you need to rewatch Girl, Interrupted for the rotisserie chicken scene alone. Of course we're here to talk about the boy in Girl, Interrupted, and unfortunately there's not much to report on. Sadly we had to give this movie only one star out of four. Yes, it delivers vintage Jared Leto, and we will always be here for vintage Jared Leto. But sadly he does not go nude in his shirtless scene. Instead we get to see his dazzling blue eyes, model-hot face, and toned to perfection bod as he discusses matters of life and death with Wynona Ryder in bed. Obviously this movie would have benefited from a look at Jared Leto's penis, balls, and ass, but we'll take what we can get. What are you Jare Leto, chicken?
