How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008) is a film adaptation based on the popular early 2000s book by Toby Young. In this adaptation that was directed by Robert B. Weide, a British writer is living and working in New York City with a new job writing for a very high-stakes magazine in New York City. He struggles to fit in in a lot of ways: the city, the work environment, and the culture shock that is living in America. To be honest, he is a bit of a snob. He is an intellectual writer who feels like he is better than the magazine world that loves celebrity, fashion, and images. He tries to rebuff this culture, but trying only makes people more interested in him. As he struggles to fit in in all of those places, he starts to wonder if he is the one with the problem. Is he alienating people? Will his efforts to stay cool and above-it-all just make people like him more? He certainly hopes not! This was a star-studded cast that includes Jeff Bridges, Gillian Anderson, Megan Fox, Danny Huston, Kirsten Dunst, and more. It also stars Simon Pegg who stars as Sidney Young, our leading man. He gets undressed at a party and winds up stuck out on a balcony in just his white boxers. Watch his shirtless, pasty body and bleach-blond hair as he hangs onto a balcony wall while only wearing his boxers. We hope he doesn't fall, but we are falling for him.
