Shelter (1998)

Shelter (2007) is a romantic drama that follows two men that fall in love but have a difficult time making their relationship work within the confines of their chaotic lives. Zach (Trevor Wright) is a budding artist in his early twenties single-handedly shouldering his dysfunctional family on his shoulders. His mother is dead, his father is sick, and his sister Jeannie (Tina Holmes) often dumps her young son Cody (Jackson Wurth) off on her overwhelmed brother. During his well-deserved reprieves, the attentive artist escapes to the beach to surf. While hanging out at the beach, Zach crosses paths with Shaun (Ross Thomas), a struggling writer who recently escape the clutches of Hollywood and a dysfunctional relationship. The new friends eventually become lovers, leading to an on and off relationship filled with love and regrets. Unfortunately there’s no nudity in Shelter, but we do get to see a shirtless Trevor Wright emerge from a steam-filled shower. Also, Wright and Thomas share some sweet kisses that will make you sigh out loud and say, “Aww, isn’t that sweet.”
