The Onion Field (1979)

Based on the 1973 true crime novel of the same name, The Onion Field (1979) tells the story of the abduction of Karl Hettinger (John Savage) and Ian Campbell (Ted Danson), two Los Angeles detectives, by criminals Gregory Powell (James Woods) and Jimmy Smith (Franklyn Seales). The unfortunate dicks are taken to the titular location in Bakersfield, where Campbell is shot and killed but Hettinger manages to escape. With Hettinger’s eyewitness account, the police are able to round up the killers, convict them, and send them to death row. While meandering on death row, the two killers learn how to milk the system through appeals, eventually lessening their sentence. But karma catches up with on of the killers, bringing with some much need justice. Before justice can be served, Jessie Lawrence Ferguson manages to show off every inch of his banging body, James Woods wows with his butt, and Franklyn Seales bares his shirtless physique. These fields are blooming with beefcake!
