With a documentary filmmaker dad and actress mum, it’s no wonder Anthony Head headed to Hollywood. After attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, the alluring Englishman aroused audiences with his sexy presence on stage (Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show); on film (Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Imagine Me & You, Scoop); on television (Enemy at the Door, Lillie), and even in ad campaigns (Nescafé Gold Blend) across the pond. Once he arrived in the US, Anthony guest-starred on the crime drama NYPD Blue (1995) and the romantic sitcom Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1999). Yet Head is best known for playing Rupert Giles on the supernatural saga Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) for which he nabbed a Saturn Award nomination. Since then, the busy babe bounced back to the British boob tube for stints on the dramedy Manchild (2002-2003); the sketch comedy show Little Britain (2003-2006); the drama Monarch of the Glen (2004); the documentary series Doctor Who Confidential (2007-2009); and the fantasy Merlin (2008-2012). By 2016, Anthony portrayed Alexander Graham Bell and Horatio Nelson on the American comedy Drunk History. The small screen stud could also be seen on other shows (Bridgerton, Dominion, Girlfriends, Ted Lasso) and heard on radio programs (Bleak Expectations, Cabin Pressure, Neverwhere). But we’re more thrilled with Tony’s topless turn in the thriller Prayer for the Dying (1987) since the 6’1” stunner exposes his bare back and ass on camera. Of course, Mr. Man’s prayer before dying is to view Mr. Head’s head!
