Biography

Michael Eugene Archer, better known by his stage name D'Angelo, is the multi-talented, and magically delicious musician that took the R & B world by storm in the mid-nineties. R & B stands for rhythm and blues, but they should have called it rhythm and babes when D’Angelo was around. The pride of Richmond, Virginia, this real life son of a preacher man grew up singing in church before heading to NYC and performing at the famed Apollo Theater. Soon enough, he was signed to a record label, and was helping big names like Usher and Brian McKnight work on their stuff. In 1995, his debut solo album Brown Sugar, which featured the shit song "Lady," delighted the masses who dreamed of getting some sugar from this brown beauty. He made an even bigger splash with his second album, Voodoo, and it’s leading single “Untitled (How Does It Feel)”. How does it feel? If you’re asking how it feels to watch the accompanying music video, then it feels great. If you're asking about the state of our junk while watching the video, it feels rock hard. Made in 2000, the artistically shot video consists of a single shot, with D’Angelo standing center frame in a gold chain, and nothing else. The camera cuts off just before, and we mean juuust before, D’Angelo’s d’ick, but that doesn’t stop us from seeing his entire upper half entirely unclothed. You can't imagine the sins we were thinking up seeing those abs and the Ken Doll cut leading down to D'Angelo's big D. Back when music videos were king, that video was a sensation and has become one of the most legendary music videos of all time. Interestingly enough, D’Angelo didn’t know what to make of his newfound sex symbol status, and took a long sabbatical to deal with his substance abuse issues, eventually ballooning to 300 pounds before going to rehab and getting his life back together. Musically, he only appeared on other people's albums until 2014, when he released Black Messiah. While he's still performing and has made some songs for Red Dead Redemption II (2018), D'Angelo has been laying low. But it feels like it's time for a comeback. After all, D’Angelo is a D’Amn good looking man.
