We love an out and proud gay celebrity, and it doesn't hurt when he's not bad to look at. The forty-two-year-old hunk Luke Evans took to Instagram to share a shirtless picture of himself looking like the daddy snack attack we've come to know and lust. Evans is rocking casual rolled-up shorts pulled down just enough to give us a look at his sexy rainbow Pride undies. Evans states in his caption that the undies were a gift from Versace. He also reminds us that all people, regardless of who they love or who they identify as, deserve love and happiness:

Wear your pride. Live your pride. Be your pride. And be kind. Everyone deserves to have happiness. Human rights belong to everyone. #happypridemonth and every other month of the year! Thanks @versace for my rainbow pants (yes, that’s what we call them in Britain)

Brits might call them pants, but here in the US, they're manties. Please respect our culture. You may wonder why it is important for out celebrities like Luke Evans to celebrate their queerness openly. And I'll tell you. As far as gays have come in many countries, there are still places in the world where being gay is punishable by prison time, death, torture, chemical castration, etc. The list, sadly, goes on.

And the injustice is happening right under our noses in some instances. In celebrity hot spot Dubai, for example, LGBT travels and residents can look forward to imprisonment, death, fines, floggings, deportation, chemical castration, forced psychological treatments, beatings, forced hormone injections, and torture, under sharia law. The Caribbean is dotted with popular vacation destinations harboring anti-LGBT sentiments. Your straight friends might be able to enjoy a honeymoon on St. Lucia, while you might be able enjoy a ten-year all expenses paid prison sentence if arrested for having sex with another man.

For those of us living Stateside, this simply means that we won't visit places subjugating queer people. But imagine being born in the United Arab Emirates, West Bank & Gaza, Egypt, Iran, or any of the many countries where being yourself can get you killed. You can find detailed maps of countries with anti-LGBT laws on the Human Rights Watch website.

We need A-list actors like Luke Evans to stand up for gays by showing off their rainbow Versace underwear on Instagram. For as silly as it may sound. Mainstream studs such as Luke - who has appeared in everything from Beauty and the Beast to Fast and Furious to the upcoming Disney live-action Pinocchio - familiarize folks in anti-LGBT countries with ~the gayness~, while also serving as inspiration for closeted gays around the globe. Thank you Luke Evans. And thank you Luke Evans' rainbow Versace underwear. It gets wetter. I mean better.
