When we think of Matthew Perry, we imagine Friends… with benefits! After nabbing guest spots on ’80s TV (Charles in Charge, Growing Pains, Highway to Heaven, Just the Ten of Us, Silver Spoons), Matt became everyone’s friend when he was cast as Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom Friends (1994-2004). Since then, the boob tube babe hasn’t been able to score similar success on other shows (Go On, Mr. Sunshine, The Odd Couple). However, he managed to land roles in a few rom-coms such as Fools Rush In (1997) with mamacita Salma Hayek and his real-life dad John Bennett Perry. In 2000, Matthew teamed up with Bruce Willis for the fantasy flick The Kid and the crime comedy The Whole Nine Yards. In the latter, the two wind up in bed together! But since the movie is rated PG-13, we only get to see their chests — not their whole nine inches. Through the years, the funny fellow appeared alongside Neve Campbell and Dylan McDermott in Three to Tango (1999); Elizabeth Hurley in Serving Sara (2002); and Zac Efron in 17 Again (2009). Eventually Matthew bounced back to the small screen to play Mike Kresteva on the legal dramas The Good Wife (2012-2013) and The Good Fight (2017); Matt Albie on the Aaron Sorkin dramedy Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007); and Ted Kennedy in the miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot (2017). In 2021, Perry popped up on the HBO Max special Friends: The Reunion to reminisce about Chandler one last time before leaving us way too soon in October, 2023.
