Hailing from Ireland with a scruffy appearance and a hot accent to go along with it, Moe Dunford was destined to become a star. Making his way into the entertainment industry, he attended the Gaiety School of Acting, and nabbed his first official on-screen role at the age of 20, playing Paul in the Irish movie The Hidden(2007). American audiences first got a taste of his smiling Irish eyes when he played Richard Leland in several episodes of the Showtime series The Tudors in (2010). The same as every actor in Europe, he had a bit part in Game of Thrones as a Stark messenger in 2012, and then a recurring role as Niall in Ireland’s TV show Raw, followed by one in the Irish Gaelic series An Crisis, playing Christian in 2013. He took the starring role of Patrick Fitzgerald in the movie Patrick’s Day (2014), and won awards and accolades all over the globe. That could be what led him to starring in the Hozier video for “Cherry Wine” in 2016, and most likely, helped him earn a leading role as Aethelwulf in the action packed Amazon drama Vikings from 2014-2018. It was in this series where Mr. Man truly found admiration for the Irish lad, given that he regularly lost his shirt (even if flogging was involved, there’s still body to admire). Moe continues to make movies in his native Ireland, earning more kudos for flicks like Rosie (2018), and The Dig (2018), but if you want to see him without taking a flight to Dublin, catch him as Richter in the Netflix version of Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022).
