Netflix has just announced that handsome Australian Liam Hemsworth is taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia for the fourth season of its fantasy series The Witcher and the internet is buzzing with opinions! The torch is being passed by Henry Cavill, who it was revealed in a post-credits scene during the film Black Adam is returning as the Man of Steel himself, Superman/Clark Kent in the DCEU. Whether this commitment is why Henry is stepping down has not been confirmed, but the news still came as a surprise to fans and there are some that doubt that the wig they all ridiculed at the show’s inception will be a good fit for the younger Hemsworth.
But the real question is how do the two actors stand up when it comes to being in the buff? And more importantly, could this switch lead to more nudity on The Witcher? Let’s examine:
Henry Cavill Naked On The Tudors
So far, Henry’s most notable nude scene came from the Showtime series The Tudors, where he showed his bare butt in a scandalous bedroom scene in the show’s very first episode.

Other than that, the sexy Brit has mostly kept it above the waist. He’s shown off his muscular torso as Geralt a few times - though you do get the sneakiest peek at one of his cheeks when he gets out of a tub.

As for Liam, he’s really only dropped trou once as well, back on the Aussie series Satisfaction, although there’s a very quick close up of his booty in 2019’s Killerman. It’s definitely time for this hottie to lose more layers!

There doesn’t seem to be a clear winner here, so perhaps this is a good time to mention that someone on the internet casually threw out the idea that what Netflix should have done instead was time jump The Witcher into the future to explain the re-casting (à la House Of The Dragon) and gone with Mads Mikkelsen instead. It’s an intriguing choice, and Mads has a superb history of showing skin. Just a little sumpin’ to think about!
Regardless, we’re sure that Liam will be a fine White Wolf who, just maybe, will shed more than in previous seasons.At least we hope so!
