Review

In Oliver, Stoned (2014) Oliver (Seth Cassell) plays a marine biologist studying the migrating pattern of an endangered species of whales. Just kidding, he’s a stoner working at his father’s car detailing place. Oliver’s lackadaisical daily routine includes smoking pot, smoking some more pot, and then for good measure smoking even more pot. It takes an unexpected wild adventure including a stolen ice cream truck and plenty of kooky characters, as well as a chance meeting with a girl (Brea Grant), for Oliver to reevaluate his life.

While Seth Cassell is a star in his own right, with plenty of movies in the pipeline and a knack for playing lovable but lost characters, we really have to put our hands together for the breakout star of Oliver, Stoned, Christopher Sandoval. His minor role as Chaco Taco (oh, what we could do with that name), has a major impact on our… hearts. In the movie this goofy, shirtless, toned, boyish skater boy effortlessly weaves in and around on his board, eventually landing right between our legs. The kicker, Christopher is a skater in REAL life, and is actually brooding and is actually escaping a troubled past through his craft. In real life. Let’s hope for a lot more skin from Mr. Christopher Sand-down-my-headboard.
