With its Flemish art, Gothic cathedrals and Art Deco pubs, Belgium has more than its fair share of stunning sites. Yet Mr. Man would rather set his sights on Namur native Rémy Belvaux. In his day, the Belgium bloke touted long curly hair, lusty lips and a thick… European accent. The handsome hunk kicked off his career by appearing in short films. Yet his résumé wasn’t limited to acting. The gifted guy was also a producer, screenwriter and editor. The first time we got to see Rémy’s skin on screen was when he played a reporter in the NC-17 flick Man Bites Dog (1992). In addition to flashing a camera, Monsieur Belvaux flashed his ass! Perhaps that’s why he was given the Special Jury Prize at the 5th Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival and the movie received the André Cavens Award from the Belgian Film Critics Association. Of course, Rémy really won us over with his naked turn in the TV series Les carnets de monsieur Manatane (1997). Cheers to the lack of censorship on French TV! The following year, Belvaux made news for tossing a custard pie at Bill Gates in Brussels. It’s only right that Rémy was fined for the incident since we’d rather he covered us in whipped cream — and then licked it up! Unfortunately, it was life that licked Belvaux. And by 2006, he committed suicide. Now, it seems the Belgium babe was just a dream — and we don’t want to wake up any time soon!
