Sanctuary (2023)

Netflix's first show to take us inside the world of Sumo Wrestling is the 2023 Japanese series Sanctuary! Kiyoshi Oze (Ichinose Wataru) is a motivated and dedicated young sumo wrestler who is on his way to becoming a legend in the ring. However, the more he trains, the better he becomes, and the more matches he wins, which threatens to upend the long held sumo traditions that he flagrantly flies in the face of at every turn. It also isn't long before he makes a sworn enemy in Shizuuchi—played by real life Sumo superstar Hiroki Sumi—who seems to be the one thing standing between Kiyoshi and the top of the sport! Though there is sadly no nudity in the first season, we do get plenty of hot Sumo action, with Ichinose Wataru facing off against many opponents, including Hiroki Sumi, in the thong-like Sumo garment known as a mawashi! Speaking of which, you'll have to mawashi up after enjoying this show!
