Somebody Up There Likes Me (2012)

Somebody Up There Likes Me (2012) is a quirky comedy that scans through thirty-five years of Max Youngman’s (Keith Poulson) life. From dating to his blissful union to Lyla (Jess Weixler), to his bond with his best friend Sal (Nick Offerman), the independent flick highlights the happenstances and awkward relationships Max has fostered and flubbed throughout his life. Interspersed between the heavy issues of mortality and fate are animated interludes that lighten up the cumbersome circumstances of Max’s life. The uber-indie film fulfills our need for male flesh. Keith and Nick both prove that somebody in Hollywood really loves us when they show off their cute butts. Life can be sweet!
