The satirical comedy Adult World (2013) follows Amy Anderson (Emma Roberts), a quirky university grad that’s determined to become a famous poet. But the future poet laureate literary future is put on hold when the combined powers of debt and unemployment push Amy back in to her parents’ home, who then force her to find a job. With only a poetry degree and a lack of any real experience, Amy settles for employment at an adult book store. With a steady job, the porn-peddling poet begins to stalk reclusive punk rocker/poet Rat Billings (John Cusack) with the hopes of him mentoring her. Of course Rat shuns her at first, but the aging rocker has an affinity for wayward twentysomethings searching for their place in the world. During her journey, Amy befriends Rubia (Armando Riesco), a spacey drag queen, and she becomes smitten with Alex (Evan Peters), the charming and equally-as-quirky manager of the triple X book store. With the help and hindrance of her new friends, Amy just might become the voice of her generation. While Amy tries to find her voice, Chris Riggi, Evan Peters, and Armando Riesco tease their fine physiques during frisky scenes of love and exploration. Talk about poetry in motion!
