Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016)

If you couldn’t get enough of Andy Samberg on TV, the comedian extended his talents to film via his big screen starring debut in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping (2016). You’ll Never Stop Never Popping One Off when you see this funny flick’s surprising amount of dudity. Under the pen and direction of Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, the musical mockumentary centers on Conner Friel played by Samberg, who also co-wrote the screenplay. He used to be a member of the faux boy band The Style Boyz but left to launch a successful solo career. While at the height of his fame, Conner decides to film a documentary about his accomplishments. Unfortunately, this is around the time when his career goes south so his descent is all captured on film. How will Conner’s party-addicted mom (Joan Cusack) and girlfriend Ashley Wednesday (Imogen Poots) react? What will his publicist (Sarah Silverman) and manager (Tim Meadows) do? Will his personal assistant Zippy (Bill Hader) survive? What will his “yes” men (Edgar Blackmon and James Buckley) say? And where is the nudity? Regarding the last question, we can tell you that Andy bares his post-waxing buns just three minutes into the movie! There’s also a dong that’s pressed against a car window, and while at first it was rumored to belong to Judd Apatow, it’s actually a stunt dick. The racy romp includes cameos by Miley Cyrus, Ringo Starr, Simon Cowell, and Carrie Underwood. Speaking of, this flick’s skin may give you under wood too!
