While common wisdom would seem to indicate that the film industry has begun embracing male nudity more in the last couple of years, the 1990s seemed to be the peak time for male nudity in critically acclaimed films. While far from the most progressive time in history, at least in retrospect, it's clear that the 90s were the true gateway to mainstream acceptance of male nudity on film.
With Awards Season now in full swing and the Oscar nominations coming up next week, we thought it was the perfect time to take a look back at the male nudity from the 90s Best Picture Oscar winners.
