Based on the Thomas Harris novel of the same name, the thriller Silence of the Lambs (1991) took home "Best Picture," "Best Director," "Best Adapted Screenplay," "Best Actor" for Anthony Hopkins and "Best Actress" for Jodie Foster at the 1992 Academy Awards. Considering how rarely any thriller or horror movies are even nominated, that shows how good the iconic movie is. In the film, Jodie Foster is Clarice Starling, a top student at the FBI’s training academy who is thriving despite being a woman in such a male dominated world. It seems as though Clarice has a knack for analyzing serial killers, which lands her a special gig investigating James “Buffalo Bill” Gumb (Ted Levine), a serial killer with a penchant for filleting his plus sized female victims. Head FBI agent Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn) wants the gifted gal to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), a brilliant psychiatrist who is serving a life sentence for his murderous and cannibalistic crimes, to get a better insight into Buffalo Bill’s mind. "Hannibal the Cannibal" is willing to speak to the beautiful young woman while he ignores the usual males who seek his help. But Hannibal's help comes with a cost and is never delivered in a direct way. It’s only a matter of time before Clarice and Hannibal square off in a battle of wits, pushing the rookie agent to the edge of sanity and her safety. But will this head-to-head lead to her finding Buffalo Bill before another fattie ends up dead? The film is full of tense moments, but very little nudity. However, there is one legendary moment that has become an oft referenced and parodied moment in pop culture. It ends up Buffalo Bill is trying to become a woman by killing women, skinning them, and making a suit out of their skin. At one point, as "Goodbye Horses" plays in the background, Ted Levine flaunts his abs while dancing with his junk tucked in a bit of mangina magic. "Would you fuck me?" We sure would, Ted! It takes the lotion out of the basket, when that scene comes on in Silence of the Lambs!
