We’re crazy for Psycho (1960) star Anthony Perkins! As a young man, Paramount Pictures promoted the lean brunette as a teen idol, pairing him with Sophia Loren in Desire Under the Elms (1958) and Audrey Hepburn in Green Mansions (1959). Off screen, Perkins carried on secret long-term affairs with actor Tab Hunter, artist Christopher Makos, and dancer-choreographer Grover Dale. That’s not to say he wasn’t also the marrying type. Anthony wed photographer Berry Berenson in 1973. But not before he had his first heterosexual experience with none other than Victoria Principal while shooting the romantic western The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (1971). At the time, Perkins was 39! Also at that time, the bisexual babe made Ten Days Wonder (1971). Otherwise known as La Décade prodigieuse, the PG mystery features Orson Welles, Marlène Jobert, and Tony’s nude debut! No doubt, fans enjoyed seeing Anthony flash his abs and ass while having straight sex in the grass. At the risk of repeating himself, he appeared in more mystery movies, such as the star-studded The Last of Sheila (1973) with James Coburn and Raquel Welch as well as Murder on the Orient Express (1974) with Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Sean Connery, and Jacqueline Bisset. During the 1980s, the arresting actor appeared in the kinky Ken Russell flick Crimes of Passion (1984), and reprised his role of Norman Bates forPsycho II (1983) and Psycho III (1986). After making Psycho IV: The Beginning (1990), AIDS marked the end of Anthony.
